Fantastic 4-H'er: Eighteen year old 4-H‘er Abbey Huffstetler is from Bartow County. Abbey is a Senior 4-H’er and a 2009 graduate of Woodland High School. Her main 4-H projects and awards have been: Master in Cotton Boll and Consumer Jamboree; Master in 4-H Public Speaking Project; Master in Dean’s Award for Communications and the Arts ,Master in Food Product Development and finalist in Leadership in Action. Among her 4-H highlights are Clovers & Company, State 4-H Board of Directors, Northwest Senior and Junior 4-H Boards of Directors, Puerto Rico 4-H Global Citizenship & Environmental Experience, State 4-H Staff 4-H Scholarship and many more. According to her application, “The opportunities 4-H has given me to develop critical thinking, interview and group work skills are invaluable. They are skills I have been able to use in school, performing arts, Junior Miss, and many other clubs and organizations,” and “My experiences in 4-H have given me a passion for serving others in my community. It has given me a true love for serving others and for giving back to a community and a world that has supported me and given me so much.” Abbey tries to tell everyone she knows that 4-H has been the single most influential factor on the person that she is today. “4-H is so much more than just an agricultural club; it truly develops the whole person – the mind, the body and the heart.” . Abbey is participating in the finals of America’s Junior Miss this week and plans to attend college at UGA this fall.
