Fantastic 4-H'er:

emblem Dustin Horne

This week’s Fantastic 4-H’er is sixteen year old Dustin Horne. Dustin comes to us from LaFayette High School in Walker county where he is a 10th grade Senior 4-Her.  Dustin’s 4-H activities include Project Achievement, Citizenship Washington Focus, Poultry Judging, Wildlife Food Plot Contest, Fall Forum, County Council, State Council, the pumpkin growing contest, and the Poultry Project.  Among his 4-H highlights are being elected Community Service Chair for his county council and placing 3rd at PA. According to Dustin, “4-H has taught me to think logically, and responsibly.  It has also taught me to manage my time.  I have been educated in so many things by the 4-H program. It has shown me how necessary it is to treat others with respect and take pride in my actions.  I have learned how to be a better person and act with my heart as well as my mind.”  Dustin’s favorite 4-H event was attending CWF and meeting 4-Hers from across the nation and learning about 4-H programs in other states. He also enjoyed learning how our National Government works. Dustin wishes that others “realized that 4-H is a great place to meet friends and it teaches you skills essential to life such as public speaking and time management.”  After he graduates, Dustin plans to attend North Georgia College and later pursue a career in the Military.  Congratulations to Dustin Horne from Walker County, this week’s Fantastic 4-Her!   To read more, visit: http://www.georgia4h.org/fantastic4her/default.htm .
