The Georgia 4-H Kroger Customer Cabin Campaign is January 31 to February 21, 2009!

Georgia 4-H is partnering with Kroger to generate donations from Kroger customers to build a "Kroger Customer Cabin" at Rock Eagle 4-H Center.   Horace Hamilton, VP of Operations at Kroger, has agreed to help raise $250,000 to name the Kroger Cabin.  Kroger is Georgia 4-H’s first partner to make a commitment for building one of our new cabins.   From January 31 to February 21, Kroger customers can donate by purchasing 4-H Icons in the amounts of $1, $5, and $50 in stores throughout Georgia. Kroger will also have 4-H “We've Always Been Green” reusable shopping bags for purchase for $2. February 7 is 4-H “Green Kids Day” at Kroger, featuring 4-H'ers bagging groceries, pumping gas, presenting their project work, and accepting tips for the cabin effort. In further support of the event, Walter Reeves will regularly announce this event on his Saturday morning "Lawn & Garden" Show during the campaign, with a special emphasis on February 7.  In 2008, Kroger customers raised $70,000 toward the $250,000 needed for the new cabin at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. This year's contribution goal is $180,000 to meet the total goal.
