A group of students representing Georgia 4-H recently returned from a weeklong experience in Puerto Rico.  The program was an intense experience built around a science engineering and technology program using the environment of Puerto Rico as the classroom.  Climbing the mountains of El Yunque Tropical Rainforest, swimming by moonlight in the bioluminescent bay of Vieques, learning about beach reclamation, mangrove forest generation, and astronomy were all part of the experience.  In addition to the science content, a plan for the context of the experience promoted the growth of each individual in the essential elements of 4-H.  The experience included an immersion into latino culture. This was the second annual Georgia 4-H GCEE.
