Senior 4-H Camp Still Rocks

Sixteen years ago, we began calling Senior 4-H Leadership Camp Hoya Saxa which means "What Rocks."   For Hoya Saxa XVI-- A capacity crowd of high school 4-H members participated in 4-H Senior Leadership Camp at Wahsega 4-H Center.  The very large and diverse group of of teens participated in leadership workshops and put leadership in action working with younger studevts and each other. worked hard, and played hard.  Dr Bo Ryles spent the entire week with the teens and said, "The week was an incredible experience.Over and over different young peolpe stepped up and took on the role of leadership and shouldered responsibility. We had 4-H'ers from Italy, from Atlanta, from North Georgia and from South Georgia.  We placed a lot of trust in these young people and they responded brilliantly."   The conference was led by a youth and adult team and supported by a cadre of counselors, volunteers, agents, and program assistants. Dr Lori Purcell provided coordination of the week working in concert with Travis Williams at Wahsega.
