4-H Ambassador Program
Current
4-H Ambassadors (click here)
The Georgia 4-H Ambassador
program is for high school 4-H'ers and adults interested in being part
of a team trained in specific issues. 4-H Ambassadors select from
the issues offered, participate in a dynamic, intense training weekend,
plan individual activities to share their knowledge and represent Georgia
4-H as ambassadors in the field. The inaugural program in 2005 boasted
more than 30 youth working in their communities to make the best better.
4-H Ambassadors are making
a one year commitment to the program which includes the training weekend
(August 17-18), individualized course of study, monthly reports and self
directed learning, individualized plans for sharing their knowledge.
4-H'ers may serve as ambassadors
in one area per year and may be eligible to return as an ambassador in
the same issue or in a new issue in following years. 2005 Ambassadors
in good standing may complete a renewal application to return in the same
area. Returning Ambassadors will not participate in the training
weekend unless they are transfering to another knowledge track.
This year's Ambassador
tracks are: Health Rocks, Global Programs, Operational Military Kids, and
4-H Public Relations.
NEW THIS YEAR: Health
Rocks Ambassadors must apply in teams of two youth and one adult. Ideally,
these team members are from the same county. Applications should be submitted
together.
