Dean's
Awards 4-H Projects
One of the highest awards Georgia
4-H Members can earn is the 4-H Dean's Award. Competition for
the Dean's Awards is open to all Senior 4-H members regardless of their prior
participation or winning status in other projects. Dean's Award participants
will submit a cummulative (4-H career) portfolio and participate in an interview
session. The scoring criteria and guidelines for portfolio submission
can be found in the
Georgia 4-H Awards & Activities Guidebook.
Portfolios are due in Athens at
the State 4-H Office by 5:00 p.m. on May 21.
Portfolios (original with 2 copies and submission
form) may be mailed or hand delivered but must arrive at the State
4-H Office (Hoke Smith Annex) by 5 p.m. on May 21. Portfolios postmarked
May 22nd may not be accepted.

Interviews
will be held at State 4-H Council on Friday, June 25. An interview schedule
will be sent to counties following portfolio submissions. The schedule
will also be posted on line.

. Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
. Citizenship
. Communications and the Arts
. Family and Consumer Sciences
. Leadership
Awards will include the
following:
. Olympic Type Medallion
. Master 4 H'er Status
. A $500 scholarship
. Recognition on 4 H Day at the Capitol
