MEMO TO: Collegiate Students who are Former 4-H’ers, County Extension Agents with 4-H
SUBJECT: 4-H Washington Intern Program
Application Deadline:           February 5, 2008

Outstanding college-age former 4-H members are encouraged to apply for the 4-H Washington Intern position. The applicant should be a sophomore, junior or senior in college. Applications must be postmarked no later than February 5, 2008. Two interview sessions will be held.  Applicants are expected to attend one of the sessions. The first session is February 15 in Athens in Hoke Smith Annex on the campus of University of Georgia. The second session will be on February 22 in Perry. Applicants will be notified via email of their interview time and the exact location with directions.

Interns will be selected to serve Fall semester 2008 and Spring semester 2009. Every effort will be made to assign interns to an area which is commensurate with their educational background, goals and interests as well as the needs of the office in Washington. Each student will have an opportunity to experience the federal government, increase their knowledge and understanding of the legislative process, enhance their network of leaders and career contacts, refine their communication skills and represent Georgia 4-H in a national setting.

Applications postmarked by February 5, 2008 are assured consideration. Each applicant will be notified by email of the interview time. Final selection and notification should be completed by March 1, 2008.
