Seining & Nets – Campers pull a seine net through the shallow water to catch whatever animals live there.

Beach/Sea Turtles – Campers look for shells and invertebrates that live on the beach while learning about the forces that shape the beach. Special time will be spent discussing the sea turtles that visit the Georgia coast.

Canoeing/Herpetology– Campers will take a short drive over to Tidelands Nature Center (part of the Jekyll Island 4-H Center located on the western side of the island) to learn to canoe and to visit the nature center. Special time will be spent discussing some of the reptiles native to Georgia.

Summer Waves – Summer Waves is a fully equipped water park with water slides, a wave pool, and other ways to cool off in the water. Campers will spend about half a day at Summer Waves.

St. Simons Island – St. Simons is where we go for a half-day of shopping and fun. St. Simons is the next island north of Jekyll Island. Campers will spend time picnicking at a local park and then will walk to the village for shopping.

Cookout and Luau – At the end of one of our days at camp, we will have a cookout and luau. Be sure to bring your appetite and colorful clothing.

Canteen – Jekyll Island 4-H Center has its own souvenir and snack shop. We sell T-shirts, hats, and other souvenir items, as well as snacks and drinks to get you through a day of activities.

Beach Swim – A trip to the Georgia coast is incomplete without a trip to the beach for a swim.
