Frequently Asked Questions

County History?!?!? Where do I start?
Begin with recruiting help.  Ask a volunteer or 4-H'er to chair the historical dig and go from there.  The resource page can help as well.

I'm not working on a county page but I have information, how do I share?

Contact your local Extension office or check out the page for sharing photographs directly.

Can I use digital photos?

Yes but digital may not reproduce as well as black and white or color.  For complete submission guidelines for photographs, check out the submission page.

How much information does a county need?

Each county has one page for photographs and text. The publishing company will work on the layout.  Each county should plan for about 300 words of text and 2 to 3 photographs.  Read the submission guidelines for help.

What exactly will a county submit?

Each county should submit text (no more than 300 words) via email to Jenny Jordan (subject line YOUR COUNTY History) AS WELL AS a hardcopy mailed with 2 to 3 photographs (with a captions) to 4-H Centennial History Project (309 Hoke Smith Annex-UGA, Athens Ga 30602)  Don't forget permission to use forms for photographs.
