Salute to Excellence Award
Salute to Excellence serves as an opportunity to acknowledge our volunteers' unwavering dedication to the 4-H Youth Development movement. Per National 4-H Council guidelines, Georgia 4-H may nominate two outstanding individual volunteers, one in each of two catgories. One award, entitled Lifetime Volunteer Award, is given to an individual who has spent more than 10 years volunteering for 4-H. The second award, entitled Volunteer of the Year Award, will be given to an individual who has volunteered for 4-H for less than 10 years.

Applications are due to the Georgia 4-H Office before December 10th to insure consideration for national submission.  The applications include supporting documentation. Please read the instructions carefully and submit your information in a timely manner.  As per the guidelines from National 4-H Council, all state nominations must come the state office with each state being allowed one entry per category.  Send the complete application packet to :

State winners advance to regional competition. Regional winners will be announced in late January.  Regional winners will advance to national competition.  One national winner in each division will be announced in April. National winners will participate in the 4-H Hall of Fame Recognition in Washington DC in October.  Georgia winners will be recognized during the  Opening Assembly of State 4-H Congress in July.
